Fortune recently released a list of the "25 Highest-paid women" in conjunction with its 2007 list of the "50 Most Powerful Women in Business."

The figures were based on 2006 total compensation. According to Equilar, Inc., the company that calculated the results for Fortune, total compensation included base salary, discretionary and performance-based annual bonuses, the value of stock and option awards, long-term incentive awards payable in cash, and other compensation.

The top 10 highest-paid women on the list were as follows:

  1. Zoe Cruz, Vice President, Morgan Stanley, $30 million
  2. Susan L. Decker, Executive Vice President, Finance and Administration, and CFO Yahoo, $25 million
  3. Irene B. Rosenfeld, CEO, Kraft Foods, $19.2 million
  4. Christina A. Gold, President, CEO, Western Union, $16.5 million
  5. Paula Reynolds, President, CEO, Safeco, $13.9 million
  6. Ann Livermore, Executive Vice President, Technology Solutions Group, Hewlett-Packard, $11.8 million
  7. Lisa W. Rodriguez, Former CFO, Weatherford International, $11.4 million
  8. Meg Whitman, President, CEO, eBay: $11 million
  9. Pat Woertz, President, CEO, Archer Daniels Midland, $10.7 million
  10. Andrea Jung, Chairman of the Board, CEO, and Director, Avon Products: $10.7 million

Twelve of the women on Fortune's "Most Powerful" list were also among the most highly-compensated, including Zoe Cruz, who topped the list. According to CNN Money, Ms. Cruz, ranked 16 on the "Most Powerful" list, made almost $9 million more in 2006 than 2005.
