An employment contract is a written, binding agreement between an employer and a prospective or current employee. The goal is to clearly establish terms and conditions governing the inception, continuation, and termination of the employment relationship. The employment agreement is also a highly effective means of protecting an employer's financial and intellectual resources. However, the contract must contain several key provisions to be enforceable.
