Help Wanted: Must 'Love the Loo'

Here at HRSBT, we love euphemistically inspired job designations and descriptions. Well, the folks at Charmin have outdone themselves.

Rather than placing an ad for attendants for their company-sponsored restrooms in New York's Times Square during the holiday season, they have launched a national "job search" contest to find "Charmin Ambassadors" who revel in "a love of the loo."

According to the contest press release, these clean, deluxe restrooms—just like those you'd find at home—are ADA-compliant, family-friendly, and fully-staffed. The restrooms offer “an interactive Charmin experience” with additional luxuries such as stroller parking, baby-changing stations, comfortable seating—and a family photo area!

Cleaning toilets isn't mentioned in the contest job description; the Charmin Ambassadors main duties will be ready to greet and entertain the hundreds of thousands of holiday visitors to the “crossroads of the World” and convey their enthusiasm for the product. They will also be asked to blog about their experience.

The jobs run from Monday, November 23 through Thursday, December 31 and the pay is $10,000.

Describing the position as not your ordinary 9 to 5 job, but “the chance of a lifetime,” applicants are asked to bring a résumé, picture, and answer to why they “enjoy the go” to the Hilton Hotel on 53rd Street and 6th Avenue in New York City on November 5.
