Happy National Boss's Day

SBT would like you to know that Friday, October 16, is National Boss's Day--in case the e-card, candy, and florist emails haven't told you first.

According to Wikipedia, this “holiday” was approved by the United States Chamber of Commerce in 1958 and first declared a holiday by the state of Illinois in 1962. The holiday is designated for October 16 (unless it falls on a weekend).

The date was picked by National Boss's Day creator Patricia Bays Haroski, of Deerfield, Illinois, because it was her boss's birthday. She hoped that the day would show appreciation for supervisors and help improve workplace relationships.

Strange but True--Haroski's boss was her father!

With BLR's Training New Managers Audio Conference on CD, you'll learn 11 practical strategies for developing effective leaders.
