Ten Nobel laureates, joined by more than 450 other economists, criticized the tax-cut plan proposed by the Bush administration because they say it will not provide a short-term stimulus to buoy the economy and generate jobs.



Be Wary of Personality Tests  
More employers have turned to personality tests in the hiring process, but experts warn against putting too much emphasis on such assessments in predicting performance, the Hartford Courant reports.



Productivity Declined in Late 2002 
In the fourth quarter of 2002, productivity fell 0.2 percent as output grew 0.8 percent but hours at work grew slightly faster, 1.0 percent.



Unemployment Dropped in January, But...  
The unemployment rate unexpectedly fell to 5.7 percent in January, though economists caution that the gains appear to be on paper only.



Avon Tops List of Best Companies for Exec. Women 

It's getting easier for women to find companies where they can succeed, according to the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE), which announced the "Top 30 Companies for Executive Women."
