Employers Project College Hires to Climb 12.7 Percent  
Employers expect to hire 12.7 percent more new college graduates in the upcoming year than they hired last year, according to a new survey.

Employers slashed 93,000 jobs in August, and the jobless rate dipped from 6.2 percent to 6.1 percent, the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor reported today.



Survey: Nearly Half of Execs Say Firms Are Understaffed 
Forty-six percent of senior executives at public companies say their company is understaffed, according to a poll by Christian & Timbers, an executive search firm. Yet, 42 percent do not expect to do significant hiring for U.S. operations in the next year.
