Labor Department Says Firms Owe $3.1 Million for Unpaid Overtime 
The U.S. Department of Labor has filed a lawsuit against two Sacramento-based firms the department says violated the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, seeking $3.1 million in unpaid wages, damages, and interest for 31 employees.



Dunkin Donut and Baskin Robbins Stores Accused of OT Violations 
The owner of fourteen northern Indiana and Illinois Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robbins Ice Cream franchises has agreed to pay 213 low-wage workers $540,912 in back wages after the Department of Labor accused the stores of violating the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.



DOL Demanding Back Wages from MO Restaurant 
The U.S. Department of Labor has filed court petitions to recover $100,000 in back wages on behalf of 13 employees of a restaurant in Raymore, Missouri.



Predictions on OT Changes Have Been Wrong So Far 
The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) enacted significant changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) last August. DOL officials thought that the revisions would bring clarification to the regulations, make it easier for employers to comply, and cut down on the number of employee-initiated lawsuits under the FLSA.



Humana Paying $1M in Back Wages to Call Center Employees 
Humana Inc., a Louisville, Kentucky-based health insurance provider with about 13,000 employees nationwide, has agreed to pay more than $1 million in back wages to 2,510 employees for violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), according to the U.S. Department of Labor.

Hospital Pays $1.3M After FLSA and FMLA Investigation 
New Hanover Regional Medical Center has paid more than $1,336,000 in back wages to more than 3,400 employees after the U.S. Department of Labor accused the Wilmington, North Carolina, hospital of violating the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).



Employer's Self-Audit Uncovers FLSA Violations 
Denver-based Apartment Investment and Management Company has paid $730,043 to 319 employees nationwide after a self-audit revealed Fair Labor Standards Act violations, including maintenance employees being paid compensatory time rather than overtime wages, according to the Department of Labor.



Insurance Company Ordered to Pay $50M in OT Suit 
A federal judge has decided that Farmers Insurance Group must pay $52.5 million to about 1,000 claims adjusters who alleged the company misclassified them as exempt from overtime, Bloomberg News reports.
