Wells Fargo Settles OT Lawsuit 
Wells Fargo & Co has agreed to pay $12.8 million to settle a lawsuit accusing the company of violating overtime rules, according to attorneys representing current and formers employees.



Guest Workers Hired After Katrina Sue Hotel Chain in New Orleans 
Eighty-two Latin American workers who came to work in the United States after Hurricane Katrina have filed a lawsuit accusing Decatur Hotels in New Orleans and the company's president, Patrick Quinn III, of exploiting them and violating the Fair Labor Standards Act.



Dept. of Labor Sues Maid Service Company for $1.8M 
The U.S. Department of Labor has filed a lawsuit against Southern California Maid Services and Carpet Cleaning (SCMS), accusing the company of violating the minimum wage, overtime pay, and recordkeeping requirements of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.



Sterling Jewelers Agrees to Pay $1.29 Million to Settle FLSA Violations 
Sterling Jewelers, Inc., of Akron, Ohio, has agreed to pay $1.29 million in back wages to 16,820 current and former employees of its retail stores operating at 1,200 locations in 41 states.



Judge Orders Company to Pay $1.24M to 52 Indian Workers 
A federal judge has ordered John Pickle Company, Inc. (JPC) and its president, John Pickle, to pay $1.24 million to 52 skilled laborers whom the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) said were recruited from India and then subjected to widespread abuse, intimidation, and exploitation.



EA Settles Class-Action Lawsuit over Overtime 
Electronic Arts, a maker of video games, has agreed pay $14.9 million to settle a class-action lawsuit alleging current and former computer programmers in its California studios were entitled to overtime compensation under state law.



School District Settles Allegations of 'Off the Clock' Work  
School District 11 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, has paid a total of $652,041 to 442 employees after the Department of Labor alleged the school district violated the minimum wage and overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).



Dept. of Labor Says Company Shortchanged Katrina Cleanup Workers 
AJA Technical and Management Services has paid $48,035 in overtime back wages to 33 employees after the Department of Labor accused the company of violating the Fair Labor Standards Act by using an incorrect calculation for overtime pay.
