We have an employee whose significant other is pregnant with their 2nd child. He would like to take some time off (partial days, etc) to help her and help out with their first child. Would this be considered FMLA even though they are not married? 



In regards to orthodontist visits, are these absences covered under an FMLA leave? 



We have an employee who qualifies for FMLA with respect to hours worked, etc. This employee left without notice, and we have no way of contacting this employee or knowing when he will return. What is our obligation under FMLA? 



Is there a form letter/template for INFORMING the employee that a situation qualifies them for FMLA leave, even though they have not asked about it?
