Airline Offers Premium Pay to Pilots Who Fly More than 80 Hours 
Northwest Airlines has agreed to reinstate premium pay for pilots who fly more than 80 hours per month. The company also announced that it is offering an incentive program for employees who have perfect attendance over the next month.



CEO Bonuses Rise 13 Percent 
The median bonus for chief executive officers at large companies increased 13 percent last year, according to an analysis of proxy statements conducted by Watson Wyatt Worldwide, a consulting firm.



Insurer Ties Employee Bonuses to Members' Health 
Health insurer WellPoint, Inc. has launched an initiative that will link a portion of employees' incentive pay with improvement in the health of its 34 million members.



Employers Continue Shift Away from Holiday Bonuses 
Thirty-four percent of companies will offer a holiday bonus program in 2006, down from 41 percent in 2005, according to a survey of more than 300 organizations by Hewitt Associates, a human resources services company.



Workers Face Charges in Referral Bonus Scheme 
A federal grand jury has indicted three individuals on charges that they participated in a scheme to defraud the employee referral program at the University of Maryland Medical Center, U.S. Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein announced.



The Disappearing Bonus as Incentive 
Some companies are trying to encourage M.B.A. students to make an early decision on job offers by using bonuses that decrease in value or go away unless they sign on by a certain date, the New York Times reports.



CEO Pay at Oil Companies and Defense Contractors Skyrockets 
The chief executives at the top 15 oil companies in the United States saw their total compensation rise by 50 percent from 2004 to 2005, according to a report by two liberal research groups.
