The government has just released unemployment figures, which show a 27-year low for unemployment claims. In the week ending April 15, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 257,000, a decrease of 9,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 266,000. Initial claims are now at the lowest level since Dec. 1, 1973, when claims were at 256,000.
