Two States Raise Minimum Wage
March 26, 2007—Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher has signed legislation that will raise the state's minimum wage to $7.25 over a period of two years. In New Mexico, Governor Bill Richardson signed legislation that will increase that state's minimum wage to $7.50 per hour over the next two years.
Humana Paying $1M in Back Wages to Call Center Employees
July 18, 2005—Humana Inc., a Louisville, Kentucky-based health insurance provider with about 13,000 employees nationwide, has agreed to pay more than $1 million in back wages to 2,510 employees for violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
