New I-9 Form Released--Fewer Acceptable Documents on It
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has revised Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, removing five documents from the form's list of those acceptable for proof of identity and employment eligibility.

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) issued a new Form I-9 last week, and it includes significant changes as to what are acceptable forms of proof of employee eligibility. Five documents that were acceptable forms of verification are no longer acceptable under the revised form. Meanwhile, one new document has been added to the form's list of acceptable documents.
