Siemens Building Technologies, Inc., of Bellevue, Washington, has agreed to
pay 52 employees $1,204,203 in overtime back wages to settle allegations that
the company violated the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Department of
Labor announced.
Siemens Building Technologies provides design, installation and service and
testing of building controls and energy service systems.
The department's Wage and Hour Division alleged that the employer failed to
pay non-exempt hourly paid engineering specialists for hours worked over 40
in a workweek. The department also alleged the company failed to pay overtime
to three non-exempt, salaried general engineers and did not maintain complete
records for them.
The department says Siemens fully cooperated in the efforts to resolve this
matter to ensure appropriate back wage pay for the alleged violations and assured
future compliance.
The investigation covered the period from October 1, 2001 until October 1,
2003.
