Performance Appraisal
National Summary
A performance evaluation is an opportunity for a manager and an employee to meet and discuss the employee's job performance, organizational priorities, and performance goals. The evaluation should focus on key behaviors that are important to the organization and the employee's progress in reaching performance goals. An appraisal may be done on a formal or informal basis, but ideally it will be an ongoing process. Salary review is often conducted separately from the performance appraisal.
