This week, May 16 to 20, is Small Business Week. To celebrate the National observance, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is encouraging small businesses and self-employed worker to visit the Small Business Tax Center and learn about available resources that can help them understand and meet their tax obligations. The IRS is also offering a free webinar.
The Small Business Tax Center has links to IRS resources, including the Virtual Small Business Tax Workshop, a downloadable tax calendar, and common forms and their instructions.
Furthermore, the IRS is offering a free, 30-minute webinar called "Small Business Advantage" to show small business owners what’s available to them. The webinar is scheduled for today, Wednesday, May 18 at 2 p.m. ET.
The IRS is also urging small businesses to take advantage of tax-saving opportunities available when they file their 2011 returns, including the small business health care tax credit.
The small business health care tax credit aims to help small employers provide health insurance coverage to their employees.
